Garry Ginivan, producer and creator of many superb music theatre productions for children and families, including Possum Magic and Wombat Stew, died suddenly in early February. Over a million Australians have seen his work, which toured to every state and territory.
Plans were afoot for an industry celebration of his life work at Her Majesty's in Melbourne in May, which will be rescheduled, but meanwhile it was great to see the Green Room Awards recognising his lifetime contribution to music theatre and, we would add, his contribution to creating and nurturing family audiences for theatre, Australia wide.
